Kysor Michigan Fleet and Snyder Tank Merge to Form Kysor Snyder

    INDIANAPOLIS--Aug. 25, 1998--Kysor Michigan Fleet and Snyder Tank Corporation, both divisions of Schwitzer Group, have merged to become Kysor Snyder.
    Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Kysor Snyder is the industry's largest truck fuel tank manufacturer, with a complete line of fuel, hydraulic and air tanks for bus, construction, agricultural, military and on-highway truck markets. Kysor Snyder produces aluminum, aluminized steel, stainless steel or HRPO steel tanks in 15 to 195 gallon capacities.
    Additionally, the division is in the start up phase of supplying cryogenic tanks for liquefied natural gas for commercial vehicles.
    "This consolidation allows us to better serve our customers with a broad product line, well-managed production and exceptional quality control," explained James Christians, Vice President and General Manager of Kysor Snyder.
    The division's operations will be consolidated in a new facility at 600 Three Mile Road, NW; Grand Rapids, Michigan 49544. Kysor Snyder's new phone number is 616/647-0020, and the new fax number is 616/647-0021.
    James Christians, formerly with Kysor Michigan Fleet, has been named Vice President and General Manager of Kysor Snyder. Snyder Tank's John Coleman has become Vice President - New Product Development with responsibility for key customer contact, development of new products and new plants. Ron Burket has been promoted to the newly created position of Vice President - Sales & Engineering, and Scott Bye has been named Vice President - Manufacturing. David Kilbourn is the Acting Chief Financial Officer of the new division, and Jack Wolford is Quality Manager.
    Schwitzer Group acquired Snyder Tank Corporation in late 1997, and the Kysor Michigan Fleet operation became part of Schwitzer Group earlier in 1997 when Schwitzer acquired Kysor Transportation Products.
