New President Named For the Canaan Group


    TORRANCE, Calif.--Aug. 24, 1998--AlliedSignal Inc. Monday announced that Joe Gullion, has been named president of The Canaan Group Ltd., a leading aerospace management consulting firm.
    The Canaan Group was recently acquired by AlliedSignal as part of its strategic plan to expand into services. Gullion, who was formerly vice president, Global Sales, for AlliedSignal's Aerospace Marketing, Sales & Service business, succeeds George H. Ebbs Jr., who Monday was named president of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
    "George's leadership contributed directly to the growth and development of The Canaan Group during the past 12 years," said Joe Leonard, president of AlliedSignal Aerospace Marketing, Sales & Services. "We are fortunate that he will stay engaged with The Cannan Group, continuing to serve as an active principal in the firm, working with clients and supporting Joe Gullion in the years ahead."
    AlliedSignal also announced that Paul Kaestle, a co-founder of The Canaan Group, is returning to the firm to lead client-based work and support business development activities. Kaestle has more than 30 years' consulting experience, including work for major airlines and aerospace manufacturers.
    Gullion previously had responsibility for sales support, product marketing and new business development. Before joining AlliedSignal, Gullion held numerous leadership positions within the aerospace industry at Airline Technical Services, JANA Inc., Dalfort Aviation, The Dee Howard Co., VARO Corp., and LTV Aerospace and Defense Co. He served as a Lt. Commander and naval aviator in the U.S. Navy.
    Since its founding in 1986, The Canaan Group has established itself as a leading consultant in strategy development, market analysis and operations management for airlines, aerospace original equipment manufacturers and service providers. On Aug. 17, AlliedSignal announced that it had acquired The Canaan Group and that the firm will maintain its operational independence and continue to provide clients throughout the industry with objective, well-developed analysis and recommendations.
