--Aug. 21, 1998--TOPIC: Four auto companies submitted bids Friday for the bankrupt Kia Motors Co. and its sister company, Asia Motors. The bids came in from U.S.-based Ford Motor Co. and three South Korean firms - Hyundai Motor Co., Daewoo Motor Co., and Samsung Motors Inc. The successful bidder will be announced on September 1.
