Stockbrokers Society Issues Research Report on ZAP Power Systems

GLENDALE, Calif.--Aug. 20, 1998--ZAP Power Systems (OTC BB:ZAPP), a manufacturer of electric vehicles, is the subject of a research report issued by the Stockbrokers Society.
The research report will be reprinted in the Bull & Bear Financial Report, Equities, Investment Reporter and Security Traders Handbook. It can also be obtained from the Web at www.stkbrkscty.com; by calling 800/552-2855, ext. 223; or by faxing a request to 818/957-1424.
The research report details the company's financial status, products and events that affect the demand for its product.
ZAP, featured in an Aug. 20, 1998, article in The Wall Street Journal, has just posted net sales (period ended June 30, 1998) of $1,324,900. Compared with the previous year, sales are up by 60 percent.
ZAP Power Systems, America's leading manufacturer of electric bicycles and scooters, also announced the opening of a representative office in Shanghai. With China's recent efforts to reduce air pollution, the company expects it to be a big market for its electric- powered vehicles.
Two-stroke gas scooters, and the emissions they create, are so widespread in cities like Shanghai that city governments have made plans to curtail their use and replace them with electric bikes. This alternative transportation offers a reduction in noise and emissions pollution.
With the growing awareness of the adverse health effects caused by urban smog and with the recent International Conference on Global Warming, ZAP is positioned to prove that electric bikes are the most appropriate solution to environmental pollution.
In June 1998, ZAP Power Systems and Z-Mark of Taiwan agreed to open outlets in Taiwan. Z-Mark has already placed its first order valued at more than $400,000.
ZAP, which stands for "Zero Air Pollution," received its start at the "Electric Vehicle Incubator" at the former U.S. Alameda Naval Air Station. ZAP has also received grants from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the California Energy Commission to develop its low-cost electric-powered vehicles.
ZAP has also built a strong global presence on the Internet. Its Web site, www.zapbikes.com, contains more than 400 pages on the company and its products.
