FINDLAY, Ohio--(AutomotiveWire)--Aug. 20, 1998--Environmental Development Corp. (EDC) has published a 300-page safety/OSHA guidebook written for motor vehicle/equipment maintenance & refueling operations.
The guidebook helps shop managers to develop and improve their safety programs and to reduce accidents and exposures and related costs. This is a companion to the company's existing shop-safety training video library. In addition, the firm has announced a 500-question, shop-safety audit procedure and safety-training guides for mechanics and technicians are under development.
The Safety/OSHA Compliance Guidebook for Managers of Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Refueling Operations contains basic and advanced information on hundreds of OSHA requirements, including required training and recordkeeping, common-sense recommended safety management practices and a directory of federal and state OSHA offices and state fire marshals. Topics include automotive lifts; air compressors; bench grinders; carbon monoxide/vehicle-exhaust control; paint and body shop; brake-dust controls; safe handling and storage of tires, batteries and fluids; and safe storage of hazardous materials and wastes.
