    BRANTFORD, Ontario--Aug. 18, 1998--Wescast Industries Inc. (TSE:WCS.A.) the leading exhaust manifold producer in North America.
    The strike between CAW Local 4207 and Wescast Industries Inc. of Wingham ended today following a ratification meeting.
    The 36-hour work stoppage concluded when workers returned to the Wingham Machine plant at 12 noon today.
    None of Wescast Machining customers failed to receive machined exhaust manifolds during the strike.
    Wescast Industries Inc. headquartered in Wingham, Ontario is the largest supplier of exhaust manifolds for passenger cars and light trucks in the world. The Company also produces pressure retaining high-alloy cast steel pump components for the petrochemical, pulp and paper and food processing industries. The Company has five facilities throughout southwestern Ontario and employs approximately 1,300 people.
