Unique Mobility, Inc. Announces $3.1 Million in New Orders for Its Recently-Acquired Franklin Manufacturing UnitGOLDEN, Colo., Aug. 14 -- Unique Mobility, Inc. (Amex: UQM) today announced that its Franklin Manufacturing subsidiary has received new orders totaling $3.1 million in annual revenue. Franklin was acquired by Unique in April 1998 as a fast growing manufacturer of printed circuit board assemblies, wire harnesses and electronic assemblies. One of Franklin's regular customers, a first tier automotive supplier, has placed new orders totaling $1.8 million for 500,000 sets of four printed circuit board assemblies. Production is scheduled to begin in October 1998. Another of Franklin's customers, a major manufacturer of off-highway equipment, has selected Franklin to supply complete operator consoles for their next generation product line. This order is valued at $1.3 million per year with production scheduled to begin in December 1998. "These new orders confirm our confidence in the growth strategy that Franklin has in place," said William G. Rankin, Unique's President and Chief Operating Officer. "Franklin continues to experience strong demand, both from existing and new customers, for its demonstrated capability as a high quality, low cost and reliable manufacturer of printed circuit board assemblies." "This new business represents a significant expansion in the breadth and volume of our manufacturing activities for two of our key customers," said Michael G. Franklin, President of Franklin Manufacturing. "These orders more than double our business with them and will increase total revenue by a third. It is an example of how our customers look to us to provide engineering services, higher value added products and to fill the role as their lead electronic assembly supplier."
