Mobil Announces Agreement with Broadway Petroleum to Manufacture and Market Asphalt
ST. LOUIS--Aug. 13, 1998--Mobil announced Thursday that it has reached an agreement with Broadway Petroleum to manufacture and market asphalt in the St. Louis area.
Under terms of the agreement, Broadway Petroleum will terminal Mobil asphalt products in their newly refurbished facility on Nagel Street in St. Louis. The terminal will feature truck and barge loading facilities, and will have the capacity to hold more than 250,000 barrels of asphalt.
Several road paving grades as well as a variety of specialty grades of asphalt will be available. The new facility will also allow for two trucks to be loaded on the scales at the same time ensuring optimum weights and minimum loading times.
The terminal is expected to operational by August 17, 1998.
"This agreement combines Mobil's asphalt manufacturing capabilities with Broadway Petroleum's asphalt blending expertise," said Gene Bialas, Mobil Special Products Manager.
"Add to that Broadway's marketing capabilities in the region, and we are well placed to price competitively and meet the new performance standards now being introduced into the U.S. market. Together we can service the growing demand for asphalt and related products more efficiently in the St. Louis area."
