Donnelly Corporation Receives 1998 Quest for Excellence AwardHOLLAND, Mich., Aug. 12 -- Donnelly Corporation announced today it has received the 1998 Quest for Excellence Award from Automotive Industries magazine, in recognition for outstanding performance in the design, development and manufacture of interior systems and components. Among the 11 interior suppliers to receive the Quest for Excellence Award, Donnelly placed second in the quality category and fourth overall. Donnelly accepted the award August 12 at an awards dinner held in Detroit. The Quest for Excellence Award is the only industry-wide quality recognition program based on the results of a reader survey. More than 1,800 Automotive Industries readers responded to the survey, rating their current or past suppliers in five categories: quality, price, delivery, service/response and innovation. "I am very pleased that Donnelly was rated by our customers and peers as one of the auto industry's top interior suppliers," said Dwane Baumgardner, Donnelly chairman and chief executive officer. This is the first year Automotive Industries, in conjunction with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, has sponsored the Quest for Excellence Award. From throughout the industry, a total of 68 automotive suppliers earned the award in 19 different categories.
