Durr Inc. Acquires the Acco Systems Division of FKI plc
    PLYMOUTH, Mich., Aug. 11 -- Durr Inc. announces the
acquisition of the Acco Systems Division of FKI plc.
    Acco Systems, Inc., based in Warren, MI, is a pioneer in the design,
manufacture and installation of conveyors and material handling systems.  Its
capabilities substantially expand the material handling systems resources of
the Durr Group.  With this acquisition, the Durr Group is able to complete its
range of products and systems solutions in the material-handling sector.  Acco
Systems, Inc., will operate in its current facilities and under its own
identity.
    As a world leader in the construction of automotive manufacturing and
painting systems, the additional technologies gained through this acquisition
will complement the existing Durr conveyor product lines, enabling the company
to provide the optimal turnkey package.
    Both companies have long and storied histories.  Acco Systems, Inc. will
celebrate its 80th anniversary in 1999 and the parent company of Durr Inc.,
the Durr Group, Stuttgart, Germany, recently celebrated its 100th year.
    Durr companies in North America are situated in six locations and employ
over 900.  They are Behr Systems, Inc., Durr Automation, Inc., Durr
Environmental, Inc., Durr Industries, Inc., Henry Filters, Inc., and Acco
Systems, Inc.
    Durr, in the U.S., designs, engineers, manufactures and markets advanced
paint finishing, paint automation, environmental controls, industrial
cleaning, automation and conveyor and material handling systems and is a world
leader in automotive paint technology.  The Durr Group is made up of over 20
worldwide subsidiaries, employs about 3,600 and has an annual turnover of
approximately $1.2 billion.
