Budget Signs on Four More Years With Sears, Roebuck and Co.

 --Budget to Expand 28-Year Relationship with More Sears On-Site Locations--

    LISLE, Ill., Aug. 11 -- Budget Rent a Car Corporation, a
wholly owned subsidiary of Budget Group, Inc. , today announced it
renewed its agreement with Sears, Roebuck and Co. , continuing
Budget's exclusive right to operate as Sears Car and Truck Rental in the U.S.
and Puerto Rico for the next four years.
    As two strong brand names with very similar goals, offering consumers
quality products and services for a great value, Budget Rent a Car Corporation
and Sears, Roebuck and Co. joined forces in 1970 to establish Sears Car and
Truck Rental.  This network of rental facilities, comprised of both Sears on-
site locations and Budget locations, are convenient outlets from which the
growing base of Sears customers can rent Budget cars and trucks.  Budget's
unique partnership with Sears enables customers to use their Sears Cards as a
form of payment for Sears Car and Truck Rental services, available at nearly
1,000 Budget locations throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico.  Budget also
operates more than 300 Sears facilities in Canada, under a separate contract.
    Over the next few years, Budget plans to grow its foundation of Sears on-
site rental locations, targeting markets where there is an opportunity to
fulfill the increasing need for vehicle rentals.  Since March 1998, Budget has
opened three new Sears Car and Truck Rental locations in Cutler Ridge, FL;
Middletown, NJ; and Pensacola, FL.  The company also reopened its location in
Watchung, NJ.
