Netscape and Visteon Automotive Systems Announce Strategic Internet Commerce AllianceVisteon to Deploy Netscape Commerce Software to Streamline Business With Suppliers and Reach New Customers MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., and DEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 11 -- Netscape Communications Corporation and Visteon Automotive Systems today announced a strategic alliance to implement innovative new electronic commerce solutions for managing Visteon's customer and supply chain transactions. As part of the new relationship, Visteon will work closely with Netscape to implement Internet-based electronic commerce solutions that leverage Visteon's entire community of suppliers and distributors and accelerate the company's delivery of products and services. This will help broaden Visteon's market presence as a supplier of integrated systems and components to global vehicle manufacturers. The collaboration calls for Visteon to license the entire Netscape CommerceXpert family of packaged Internet commerce applications, as well as Netscape Application Server software. Visteon chose the Netscape solution because it enables the organization to grow its business by delivering a full range of applications as Internet services. Visteon is called on to meet critical customer requirements such as support for thousands of users, high quality of service, 24x7 availability and secure transactions. The Netscape solution delivers end-to-end packaged applications, a massively scalable infrastructure, and integration with Visteon's existing business systems which will help Visteon meet these demands and manage a full spectrum of trading partners.
