TASER International Inc. Opens Minneapolis/St. Paul Office in Anticipation of Strong Sales

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--Aug. 6, 1998--TASER International Inc. Thursday announced the opening of its Midwest sales office in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
The new TASER International sales office is located in south Minneapolis.
TASER International is the manufacturer of the AUTO TASER(TM), the first and only auto security device to stop a car thief with 50,000 volts of non-lethal TASER(R) technology. The company also developed the AIR TASER(R), a personal self-defense device that incapacitates an attacker by non-lethal means.
"The timing is perfect to open a sales branch in the Twin Cities," said Patrick Smith, president of TASER International. "We are in the middle of a successful 100-store AUTO TASER market launch in Los Angeles and Dallas with Pep Boys, the second largest automotive chain in the nation. Based upon the strong sales in the west, we expect the same reaction in the Midwest and want to be prepared."
John Radabaugh, a Minnesota native, has been promoted to national accounts manager for the Midwest region and will manage the new Twin Cities office. Before joining TASER International, Radabaugh worked in sales for 3M Corp. and Imation Corp.
The AUTO TASER functions as a steering wheel lock and is armed with a remote control. When a thief enters the car and attempts to touch the steering wheel or grab the AUTO TASER, the unit sets of a 130-decibel siren. Five seconds later, the entire unit is electrified with non-lethal TASER(R) technology.
If the offender's hand comes within one half-inch of the AUTO TASER, he'll be greeted with the stunning current.
The AUTO TASER is legal in all 50 states, and is now available in Minnesota. According to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, 15,500 cars were stolen in 1995. This means 42 cars are stolen daily in Minnesota.
TASER International has begun to establish new AUTO TASER dealers in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Among the first is Auto Fun, located at 6121 Excelsior Blvd. in St. Louis Park. Auto Fun's phone number is 612/922-8040.
The phone number for the new Twin Cities sales office is 800/978-2737, ext. 2401. For more information about TASER International and the AUTO TASER, contact Tina Miller-Steinke at 602/905-2020 or visit the TASER International website at www.airtaser.com.
