Best-Ever Sales Momentum Continues for Toyota's Kansas City Region
KANSAS CITY, Mo., Aug. 6 -- Toyota's Kansas City Region
continues its car sales momentum by posting a 21 percent increase over last
year. Total car and truck sales increased 13 percent over July 1997.
New car sales at 74 Toyota dealers in Iowa, Kansas, South and North
Dakota, Missouri and Nebraska totaled 2,531, a 21 percent increase over last
year's 2,099 sales.
"The best-selling car for 1997, the Toyota Camry, contributed to record
July sales, leading with a 29 percent increase over 1997. Our North
American-built Corolla and Avalon had sales increases of 17 percent and 13
percent, respectively, over last year sales," said Bruce Ertmann, general
manager of the Kansas City Region.
"Our Kansas City dealers had a successful Summer Sales Rally and are
poised for an 'Awesome August' as they kick-off for continuing record sales of
1998 vehicles in anticipation of the arrival of new 1999 models," Ertmann
said.
