American Suzuki Motor Corporation Announces Pricing on All-New 1999 Grand Vitara
             Not Surprisingly, the All-New V6 Grand Vitara Offers
                   Fully-Equipped, Yet Affordable Packages

    BREA, Calif., Aug. 6 -- American Suzuki Motor Corporation
(ASMC) announced today the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for
the 1999 Grand Vitara line-up, which arrives in dealerships this month.
    With its powerful V6 engine, extensive technological advances, dynamic
styling and refined interior, all as standard equipment, the 1999 Grand Vitara
boasts the most outstanding value in its class.  In keeping with Suzuki's
value-conscious tradition, the Grand Vitara's competitive pricing strategy
parallels the company's goal to re-establish a leadership position in the
small sport-utility segment.
    The Grand Vitara model line is available in either two-wheel drive (2WD)
or four-wheel drive (4WD) configurations.  Both the two-wheel drive JS and
four-wheel drive JLX offer the same standard equipment and feature a
top-of-the-line "+" trim level that adds ABS and aluminum alloy wheels.
    The MSRP for the two-wheel drive Grand Vitara JS starts at $17,999 with a
manual transmission and the JS+ is priced at $18,999 also equipped with a
manual transmission.  The MSRP for the four-wheel drive Grand Vitara JLX
starts at $18,999 and the JLX+ comes in at $19,999 for the manual transmission
model.  Automatic transmission is available for $1000.  Destination and
delivery charge for the Grand Vitara is $430 (except in Alaska, $700) not
including license and state or local taxes.
