SPX Corporation Acquires Toledo Trans-Kit
    MUSKEGON, Mich., Aug. 4 -- SPX Corporation today
announced it has acquired Toledo Trans-Kit for an undisclosed amount.  Toledo
Trans-Kit, more commonly known as TTK, is located in Toledo, Ohio.
    With revenues approaching $20 million, TTK supplies transmission repair
kits to the global automotive repair industry.  TTK will become part of SPX's
Filtran division.
    Alex Kummant, President of SPX's Filtran business, said, "The acquisition
of TTK will allow us to offer a broader range of products to all of our
customers and provide additional opportunities to include our transmission
filters in complete transmission overhaul kits.  Furthermore, TTK's strong
international relationships in the transmission aftermarket fit well with our
global growth strategy."

Filtran brand name, these filters are sold as original equipment components
and as replacement components, they are sold under numerous private brands.
