Goodyear Declares Dividend

    AKRON, Ohio, Aug. 4 -- The Directors of The Goodyear Tire &
Rubber Company today declared a quarterly dividend of 30 cents a share.  The
dividend is payable Sept. 15 to shareholders of record Aug. 17.  The payout
represents an annual rate of $1.20 per share and is the highest in the
company's history on a post-stock-split basis.
