Porsche's U.S. Sales Up Fifty-Eight Percent In July 1998

                Sales Reflect a 293% Gain in Sales for 911 Carrera

    ATLANTA, Aug. 4 -- Porsche Cars North America, importer and
distributor of Porsche sports cars in the United States, today announced sales
and stock figures for the month of July 1998.  Figures reflect a substantial
market acceptance of the 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe and Cabriolet, which
were introduced in April of this year.  The result contributes to a 35% sales
increase for the 1998 calendar year to date.
