Paxar Corporation Names John P. Jordan Vice President and Treasurer
    WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Aug. 3 -- Paxar Corporation ,
a world leader in the identification and tracking industry, today announced
that it has named John P. Jordan, 52, to the posts of Vice President and
Treasurer.
    Commenting on the announcement, Jack Plaxe, Senior Vice President and
Chief Financial Officer said, "John brings to Paxar nearly twenty-five years
of experience in finance and management, including five years in public
accounting.  We are delighted to have someone of John's experience and
background join Paxar.  He will be a key member of our executive team."
    Prior to joining Paxar, Mr. Jordan was Vice President and Treasurer of
Amscan Inc., a $200 million privately-held multinational manufacturer and
distributor of paper and party supplies.  In addition to the 11 years he was
with Amscan, he served in financial positions with several other firms
including United States Filter Corp, a Fortune 500 multinational mining and
chemical company, and Arthur Andersen & Co.  Mr. Jordan earned his BSBA in
accounting at the University of Florida.  He is a Certified Public Accountant.
