Modine Employs Ernest Thomas as Group VP, Highway Products

    RACINE, Wis.--Aug. 3, 1998--Modine Manufacturing Company (NASDAQ MODI) has employed Ernest Thomas as group vice president, Highway Products, with responsibility for Modine's North American Automotive, Climate Systems, and Truck Divisions. The divisions serve original-equipment manufacturers of passenger cars and light trucks, agricultural and construction equipment, and medium- and heavy-duty trucks.
    Thomas comes from Eaton Corporation where he has been general manager of the Fluid Power Division, with business responsibilities in North America, Germany, and Brazil, after having also been general manager of the Torque Control Products Division. He joined Eaton after working in various financial positions at General Motors.
    Thomas graduated in 1976 from Bluffton College in Bluffton, Ohio, with a BA in business administration and accounting. He earned an MBA in accounting and finance from Miami University, Miami, Ohio, in 1981.
    Thomas, his wife, and three sons will be relocating in the Racine area from their home in Kalamazoo, Mich.
