Elliott S. Hall Assumes New Dealer Development Role at Ford

    DEARBORN, Mich., July 29 -- Ford Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer Alex Trotman today announced the following executive
appointment:

    Elliott S. Hall is appointed vice president, Dealer Development, effective
August 1, 1998.  Under his leadership, a new Dealer Development Office will be
responsible for enhancing the focus on minority dealer operations,
strengthening relationships within our minority dealer network, and supporting
the dealer development program.
    In his new position, Hall will report to Bob Rewey, group vice president,
Marketing, Sales and Service.
