TRW's New MARC Labor Standards System Offers Boost to Warehouse Management Productivity


    McLEAN, Va.--July 27, 1998--Through the addition of the new MARC(TM)-LS (Labor Standards) system to its comprehensive MARC(TM) warehouse management system, TRW offers warehouse managers a way to increase employee productivity up to 100 percent.
    "One thing that makes MARC-LS so unique is its ability to adjust employee productivity calculations real-time. For example, an employee may need to interrupt one task to alert the system of a problem in completing the task. The employee can update the system real-time via a radio frequency transaction, and the standard time to complete the task is adjusted instantaneously," said Ronald G. Tepper, senior vice president, TRW Logistics Execution Solutions. "The result is that employees will not be downgraded for their performance because it took them longer to complete a task, since the delay is automatically calculated into the system," added Tepper.
    "Introduced to the industry in June, MARC-LS is a true stand-alone, real-time labor management solution, enabling customers to collect data, conduct performance analysis, and create data presentations for all warehouse management activities," said Lonny Avital, vice president of systems, TRW Logistics Execution Solutions.
