Pacific Raceways, Inc. Retains ConsultantsSEATTLE, July 27 -- Pacific Raceways, Inc., of Seattle, WA, has retained Event Management Corporation (EMC) of Grosse Pointe Farms, MI it was announced today by J. Dan Fiorito, Jr., President of Pacific Raceways, Inc. Pacific Raceways is the owner of the existing 320-acre motor sports property in Kent, WA. EMC will advise and assist Pacific Raceways in development of plans for the eventual take-over of track management and operations at the raceway. The hiring of consultants is considered to be one of the first steps by the owners toward that end. Built in 1958 by a group of automotive enthusiasts, the 2.25 mile road course and drag strip is currently operated by another party under a lease agreement as Seattle International Raceway. Pacific Raceways intends to take over operations at the expiration of the current lease agreement. Founded in 1983 by Detroit attorney John Love, EMC is a public relations and special events agency with particular experience in motorsports and automotive events. The company currently represents CART series co-sponsor PPG Industries; Michelin North America; BFGoodrich Tires; Johnson Controls Automotive Systems Group; Anheuser Busch and Detroit's North American International Auto Show. EMC expects to open a Pacific Northwest office in the spring of 1999.
