DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., July 27 -- Budget Group, Inc.
announced today the appointment of Jim Dreesen as president of its Premier Car
Rental subsidiary. Jim joins Premier from Ryder TRS, which was recently
acquired by Budget Group, Inc.
Jim started his career with Ryder in 1979. Since 1995, he has held the
position of director and general manager, Midwest Region, responsible for
overseeing operations with $74 million in revenue, 575 locations and 3,700
trucks.
"Jim's extensive operations and sales management experience, proven track
record in driving revenue growth, leveraging team performance and customer
focus while at Ryder make him an ideal candidate to oversee this rapidly
growing subsidiary of Budget Group. We are especially pleased that we were
able to find a candidate for this critical position within the Budget Group
companies," said Jeff Congdon, vice chairman of Budget Group, and with
responsibility for Premier.
Premier Car Rental is the nation's third largest car rental company
serving the insurance replacement market through a network of 160 rental
locations in 19 markets.
In addition to Premier, Budget Group, Inc., through subsidiary companies
and their franchisees, operates Budget Car and Truck Rental, the third largest
worldwide car and truck rental system, and Ryder TRS, the nation's second
largest consumer truck rental company. Budget Group also owns Budget Car
Sales, one of the largest independent retailers of late model vehicles in the
United States, and Cruise America, the largest recreational vehicle rental and
sales company in North America. The company also operates airport parking
facilities at certain locations and, through Van Pool Services, leases vans
for van pooling operations.
