Defiance, Inc. Declares Regular Quarterly Dividend

    CLEVELAND, July 24 -- Directors of Defiance, Inc.
today declared a regular quarterly dividend of $0.04 per share,
payable September 4, 1998, to shareholders of record August 14, 1998.
    Defiance, headquartered in Cleveland, is a manufacturer of specialty anti-
friction bearings and metal prototypes dies and parts, and provides testing
and tooling development services to the U.S. motor vehicle industry.
