CMS Energy Corporation Announces Lear Corporation's Chairman and CEO, Kenneth L. Way Elected to Board of Directors
    DEARBORN, Mich., July 24 -- CMS Energy Corporation
today announced Kenneth L. Way has been elected as a member of its
Board of Directors.  Mr. Way's election brings membership of the Board to
eleven Directors.
    Mr. Way is chairman and chief executive officer of Lear Corporation, one
of the world's largest suppliers to the automotive industry.  He has been
chairman and chief executive officer of Lear since 1988 and has been
affiliated with Lear and its predecessor companies for 32 years.  Specializing
in automotive interior systems, Lear Corporation's 1997 sales totaled $7.3
billion.
    A native of Detroit, Mr. Way earned a master of business administration
degree in 1971 and a bachelor of science degree in 1961, both from Michigan
State University.  He received an honorary doctor of engineering degree from
Lawrence Technological University in 1995.
    Mr. Way serves on the boards of directors of Comerica, Inc. and the R.P.
Scherer Corporation.  He also serves on the boards of trustees of Kettering
University in Flint and the Henry Ford Health Systems.  Mr. Way is active in
several community organizations, including membership on the Detroit
Renaissance and Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce boards of directors.
    In announcing Mr. Way's election, William T. McCormick, Jr., CMS Energy's
chairman and chief executive officer, said "Ken Way is an outstanding leader
whose experience and background in the worldwide automotive industry will add
