Toyota Announces Management Changes
    TORRANCE, Calif., July 20 -- Toyota Motor Sales (TMS),
U.S.A., today announced numerous management changes, which are effective
immediately.
    John Koenig, formerly vice president, motorsports, is appointed vice
president, Toyota Industrial Equipment (TIE) product development, marketing
and training.  Koenig reports to Richard Gallio, group vice president and
general manager, TIE.
    Replacing Koenig as vice president, motorsports, will be James Aust.
Previously, Aust was vice president and general manager, Toyota Motor
Insurance Services (TMIS).  Aust is responsible for Toyota's motorsports
efforts, including its CART Champ Car, Off-road, Pikes Peak Hill Climb and
Players/Toyota Atlantic Championship programs.  Aust reports to J. Davis
Illingworth, senior vice president, planning and development.
    Jane Beseda has been promoted from corporate manager, strategic planning
to succeed Aust as vice president and general manager, TMIS.  In this
position, Beseda will oversee company direction, financial results and product
development for TMIS and three related insurance companies.  Beseda reports to
George Borst, senior vice president and general manager, Toyota Motor Credit
Corporation.
    Chris Hostetter, formerly corporate manager, product planning, replaces
Beseda as corporate manager, strategic planning.  Hostetter is responsible for
pricing, market research and strategic planning.  Hostetter reports to David
Danzer, vice president, corporate strategic and product planning.
    Hostetter's former responsibilities will be assumed by Ed Ohlin, national
product planning manager.
    Other Toyota moves include Doug Formby, formerly corporate manager, New
Era Business Project.  He is appointed corporate manager, planning and
operations support, North American Parts Logistics Division (NAPLD), reporting
to Robert Bennett, group vice president, NAPLD.
    Additionally Bill Duff, formerly national manager, TIE marketing and
planning, is appointed to the newly created position of national manager,
materials compliance.  Duff reports to John Turmell, senior vice president and
general manager, Customer Services Division.
