Ford Announces Executive Appointments

    DEARBORN, Mich., July 16 -- Ford Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer Alex Trotman today announced the following executive
appointments:

    -- Carlos E. Mazzorin is elected group vice president Purchasing and Ford
       of Mexico, effective immediately.

    -- James J. Padilla is appointed President of Ford South American
       Operations, including Argentina, Brazil, and Ford Andina (Venezuela,
       Colombia and Ecuador).  In addition, other markets operating under
       Ford's Worldwide Direct Market Operations, including Chile, Uruguay,
       Bolivia, Peru, Paraguay, and the Guianas, will now become part of the
       new Ford South American Operations.  This appointment will be effective
       August 1.
