Johnson Controls Names Chuck Harvey Group Vice President of Human ResourcesPLYMOUTH, Mich., July 16 -- Johnson Controls has named Chuck Harvey as group vice president for human resources at the company's Automotive Systems Group. Harvey -- who joined the company in 1977 -- has been serving as director of human resources for the group's North American and South American operations. In his new post, he will direct human resources activities for the automotive business throughout the world. Harvey is responsible for expanding the global capabilities of the Automotive Systems Group in recruitment, training and development, compensation and employee relations. He reports to John Barth, executive vice president for Johnson Controls, and is based in Plymouth, Michigan. Harvey supervises the company's regional human resources leaders in Asia, Europe, North America and South America. "We're pleased to have Chuck manage this vitally important function -- and support our people resources -- as we enhance our global capabilities in automotive interiors," said Barth. "People are the number one contributor to Johnson Controls' ongoing success." Harvey has worked for Johnson Controls for a total of 10 years. In 1994, he joined the company's Automotive Systems Group as director of human resources for the Americas. Prior to that, Harvey directed human resources activities in Johnson Controls' Plastics Technologies Group of Johnson Controls in Manchester, Michigan. That division was sold to Germany-based Schmalbach-Lubeca in 1997. Previously, Harvey held human resources management positions at Johnson Controls' corporate office in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; at Philip Morris Industrial in Milwaukee; and at his own company, Boch Plastics in Milwaukee. Harvey earned a bachelor's degree in English at St. John's University in St. Cloud, Minnesota. He is married, has two children and resides in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
