GenCorp Vehicle Sealing President Resigns

    FAIRLAWN, Ohio, July 15 -- GenCorp announced today
that Wayne A. Smith, formerly President of GenCorp's Vehicle Sealing Business
Unit, has resigned to pursue other interests effective immediately.  The
Company stated that D. Michael Steuert, Senior Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer, has assumed the additional duties of President of GenCorp's
Vehicle Sealing Business Unit.
    GenCorp is a market-driven, technology-based manufacturer with leading
positions in numerous polymer product markets as well as the automotive and
aerospace and defense industries.
