Kalthoff International and MFG Publishing to Co-Produce Conference

14 July 1998

Kalthoff International, Plant-Wide Research Group, and MFG Publishing to Co-Produce First Engineering ERP Conference

CINCINNATI--July 14, 1998--Kalthoff International, producers of the leading conferences for engineering document management and product data management technologies, in conjunction with Plant-Wide Research Group, a consulting and market research firm, and MFG Publishing, publisher of Midrange ERP, today announced that they will co-produce a new conference focusing on ERP and PDM integration. The new conference, Engineering ERP 98, will be held from September 28 - October 1 at the Omni Rosen Hotel in Orlando in conjunction with the Kalthoff Fall 98 EDM/PDM event.
Engineering ERP 98 was developed to address issues related to integrating ERP to PDM in manufacturing firms. This event, designed for senior engineering and manufacturing executives, CIOs, operations managers and others, will provide practical advice on improving the flow of information between engineering and manufacturing.
"The transfer of data between engineering and manufacturing is a natural extension of the EDM/PDM market we've served for ten years," stated R. Michael Kalthoff, president of Kalthoff International. "Today, more than ever, manufacturers need to understand the implications of managing product information throughout their organization. A critical aspect of that is the integration of PDM with ERP/MRP systems, and this conference is the first to address that issue."
Engineering ERP 98 will offer three tracks of conference sessions covering the flow of information between manufacturing and engineering, the overlaps between ERP and PDM, ownership of product data throughout its life cycle, and the Internet's role in interoperability. In addition, conference participants will be able to attend the EDM/PDM sessions offered at Kalthoff Fall 98.
During the conference, attendees can also schedule one-on-one meetings and software demonstrations with key executives from over 50 leading EDM/PDM and ERP firms. Kalthoff conferences are distinguished by a unique format that gives attendees access to vendors in the privacy of hotel suites and breakout rooms instead of on an exhibit floor.
Plant-Wide Research Group is comprised of professional industry analysts who focus on the manufacturing, financial, planning and control systems software and hardware markets. The firm provides users, software developers and consultants with up-to-date profiles and comparative analyses on hundreds of vendors and products each year through a series of specialized reports.
