AVON, Mass.--July 14, 1998--Life Cycle Solutions, Incorporated (LCS) today announced a contract extension with AlliedSignal Turbocharging Systems for work related to selection and implementation planning for an enterprise-wide PDM system. Turbocharging Systems, headquartered in Torrance, CA, is the leading worldwide supplier of Passenger Car and Commercial Diesel Turbochargers.LCS has contributed to the business case, cost justification, strategic and tactical planning sessions, worldwide requirements analysis and the RFP. Over the past 4 months, LCS has helped Turbocharging Systems identify five target areas of opportunity for a worldwide PDM implementation. The plan will include: improving design-to-operations integration; increasing part-standardization and design re-use; incorporating product life cycle activity into electronic workflow; and enhanced information distribution, storage, organization and search capabilities.
Mark J. Silvestri, LCS President, says these capabilities will become strategic enablers to help fulfill Turbocharging Systems' goals to concentrate on faster, higher-quality product development and product launch, more rapid resolution of product issues, and design re-use and standardization. Higher BOM accuracy in the engineering and manufacturing reconciliation process and worldwide integration of projects and processes are also continuous improvement targets.
