MascoTech, Inc. Announces Increase in Quarterly Dividend

    TAYLOR, Mich., July 10 -- MascoTech, Inc.
announced that its Board of Directors has declared an increased quarterly cash
dividend to $.07 per common share.  The dividend is payable on August 17, 1998
to shareholders of record on July 24, 1998.
    The new quarterly dividend represents an increase over the prior quarter
dividend rate of $.06 per share and reflects the Board's confidence in the
long-term outlook for the Company.
