    AKRON, Ohio--July 7, 1998--The Board of Directors of Roadway Express, Inc. , at a meeting today, declared a cash dividend of $0.05 per share on the Company's common stock. The dividend is payable on September 8, 1998, to shareholders of record on August 21, 1998.
