Federal-Mogul Appoints Timothy Hefferon Legal Counsel, Sealing SystemsSOUTHFIELD, Mich., July 7 -- Edward W. Gray, Jr., senior vice president, general counsel and secretary, Federal-Mogul Corporation , announces that Timothy Hefferon, associate general counsel, has been given responsibility for the coordination of the legal activities of Sealing Systems. Hefferon will continue to report to Gray and will remain involved in legal matters involving other groups within the Company. He will report to Wilhelm Schmelzer, executive vice president, Sealing Systems, on a functional basis on matters involving the Sealing Systems group. "We are undertaking this cooperative arrangement with Sealing Systems before deciding whether similar arrangements would best serve the needs of other operating groups," said Gray. Schmelzer added, "We believe it will benefit our group to have someone with ongoing familiarity with our operations coordinating our legal affairs. We look forward to working closely with Tim." Hefferon has been with Federal-Mogul as associate general counsel since January, 1994. Prior to joining Federal-Mogul, Hefferon was an executive partner in the Detroit-based law firm of Hill Lewis, now Clark Hill. Hefferon received his law degree from the University of Michigan.
