GM Awards Million Dollar Contract to ALPNET

General Motors Awards ALPNET Contract Worth Over One Million Dollars
    SALT LAKE CITY, July 7 -- ALPNET, Inc. , the
international translation and localization services company, today announced
that it has been awarded a contract worth over US$1 million dollars by General
Motors.  The contract is to translate SGML-based technical service information
from English into Canadian-French.  General Motors has also qualified ALPNET
to translate the information into additional languages, which include
European-French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish
and Japanese.
    ALPNET's Montreal office will be managing this project, and has extensive
experience translating technical service information for the automotive
industry, including more than 10 years of experience as a supplier to Chrysler
Canada.
    Valued at over US$1 million, the Canadian-French project is expected to be
completed near the end of 1998 and will utilize ALPNET's proprietary CAT
(Computer-Aided Translation) tool, TSS (Translation Support System) and its
network of native-speaking translators, editors, engineers and IT specialists.
To date, ALPNET has received several million words of 1999 Model Year
technical information to be translated into French for the Canadian market.
