BMW Reports Best First-Half in Its History; Another Record Set for June Sales
WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., July 2 -- BMW of North America, Inc.
reported an all-time record for first-half sales, 66,869 vehicles compared to
62,401 for the same period a year ago, an increase of 7 percent. As BMW
continued its record-breaking pace, another sales record was set this month as
June sales increased 2 percent, to 11,309 vehicles.
June highlights include an 11 percent increase in sales of BMW's 3 Series
models, to 5,071 automobiles and a 26 percent increase in sales of BMW's 7
Series models, to 1,588 vehicles.
Land Rover North America, Inc., a member of the BMW Group, reported June
sales of 2,487 vehicles and year-to-date sales of 10,053. Consolidated U.S.
June sales for the two companies were 13,796 units (BMW: 11,309; Land Rover:
2,487) and consolidated year-to-date sales were 76,922 vehicles, up 4 percent
(BMW: 66,869; Land Rover 10,053).
