Kia Sales Skyrocket!

    IRVINE, Calif., July 1 -- Arriving just in time for the
fireworks, Kia Motors America today announced record sales of 9,215 vehicles
for the month of June.  This figure represents Kia's highest sales numbers
month since the company began selling cars in February 1994.
    June sales mark a decided increase in the continuing trend of steady sales
growth observed by Kia for the past year, as reflected by Kia's year-to-date
sales nearly doubling those of last year.
    Kia is in the midst of its market-by-market roll-out, which will culminate
in a national dealer network by the end of 1998.  Kia now has more than 420
dealerships in 41 states.
