Transportation Components, Inc. Announces Over-Allotment Option Exercised

    HOUSTON, July 1 -- Transportation Components, Inc.
, also known as TransCom USA, announced today that the underwriters
of its recent initial public offering exercised their over-allotment option
for an additional 750,000 shares priced at $8.00.
    The Company completed its initial public offering on June 19, 1998,
selling 5,000,000 shares of common stock at $8.00 per share.  The offering was
lead managed by Bear Stearns & Co. Inc., with BT Alex. Brown, and Sanders
Morris Mundy as co-managers.
    TransCom USA is a leading national distributor of replacement parts and
supplies for commercial trucks, trailers, and other heavy duty vehicles and
equipment.  The Company also provides value added services including
remanufacturing, vehicle repair, fleet maintenance management, and machine
shop services.  With over sixty locations in the U.S. and Mexico, TransCom
USA's customer base includes common carriers, private and rental fleets,
independent repair shops, specialty OEMs and other end users.
