Federal-Mogul Recognized for Supplier Excellence by Cummins Engine CompanySOUTHFIELD, Mich., June 30 -- Federal-Mogul Corporation's Powertrain Systems facility in Flowery Branch, Georgia was presented with an award in "Recognition for Direct Supplier Excellence" from Cummins Engine Company's Jamestown, New York Engine Plant. The award recognizes straight "A" performance in 1997 and is based on input from material planning, supplier quality engineering and product engineering. Quality, delivery, technology, cost, administration and attitude reflect the evaluation criteria. Federal-Mogul has the distinction of being only one of eight direct suppliers out of 250 total suppliers to receive this award. "All the employees of the Flowery Branch facility should be especially proud of this accomplishment, especially in light of all the changes during recent years," said Morrie Ribble, operations manager - rings. "This is a perfect example of people serving customers through manufacturing mastery." The manufacturing facility supplies 100% of the oil rings for the Cummins M11 engine used in classes 4-8 trucks. In 1997 the site shipped over 257,000 rings to the Jamestown Engine Plant.
