Automotive Information Center Announces Volvo as Pioneer Content Integration Advertiser
WESTBOROUGH, Mass.--June 30, 1998--Automotive Information Center (AIC) is pleased to announce Volvo as the pioneer advertiser in AutoSite's (www.autosite.com) content integration program. Volvo will receive featured status throughout the site with integrated links to specific areas to the Volvo web page (www.volvocars.com).Several factors influenced Volvo to choose AutoSite as the place to advertise. AutoSite's primary audience is the undecided automobile consumer in the research-to-buy process. According to Jeff Silverstien, Interactive Media Supervisor at Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG, Volvo's advertising agency, AutoSite offered "a unique approach to advertising. What attracted us the most was the fact that AutoSite delivered more than just a banner ad. The program offers easy access to Volvo's material for the AutoSite user."
"We're yet to meet the car buyer who doesn't want to read what the car manufacturer has to say," notes Wayne Lilley, Automotive Information Center's CEO. "We've just made it extremely easy for that customer to access Volvo's information." Volvo explained their advertising needs and AutoSite went to work to deliver an aggressive package that allows customers to utilize AutoSite's objective information and view Volvo's additional content at the same time.
"Even more exciting is the opportunity to add specialized engineering information within the AutoSite comparison report," Lilley adds. "It allows the consumer to drill down past the surface and into some really exciting content at either AutoSite or Volvo's site. Ideally, all manufacturers would like to see their vehicles presented in this manner."
"We are extremely excited to have Volvo as the first on board for this new campaign at AutoSite. We see this type of contextual advertising as the future of the Internet," says Heidi Lehmann, AutoSite's Director of Business Development.
