Meritor Automotive Names Nuckols Vice President, Information Technology, Heavy Vehicle Systems
    TROY, Mich., June 29 -- Meritor Automotive, Inc.
announced the appointment of Monte J. Nuckols to vice president, Information
Technology, Heavy Vehicle Systems.
    Nuckols joins Meritor with nearly 20 years of experience in information
systems management.  Most recently, he has served as senior manager of the
Information Technology Management consulting practice with Ernst & Young LLP,
and director of Information Services with Cummins Engine Company, Inc.
    In his new role, Nuckols reports directly to Meritor Chief Information
Officer and Senior Vice President, Susan P. Kampe.  Nuckols is responsible for
directing and implementing worldwide information technologies and
infrastructure requirements for all Heavy Vehicle Systems operations.
    Reporting to Nuckols are regional IT managers that support global
operations in the company's North American, European, South American and the
Asia/Pacific regions.  Nuckols will work in collaboration with Erik Roeren,
vice president, Information Technology for Light Vehicle Systems.

industries will be integral in furthering the global IT initiatives underway
to provide even greater operational efficiency across our growing
manufacturing enterprise," said Kampe, Meritor chief information officer and
senior vice president.
    Meritor, with 1997 sales of more than $3.3 billion, is a global supplier
of a broad range of components and systems for commercial, specialty and light
vehicles.  Meritor consists of two businesses:  Heavy Vehicle Systems, a
leading supplier of drivetrain systems and components for medium- and heavy-
duty trucks, trailers and off-highway equipment and specialty vehicles,
including military, bus and coach, and fire and rescue; and Light Vehicle
Systems, a major supplier of roof, door, access control and seat adjusting
systems, electric motors and electronic controls, suspension systems and
wheels for passenger cars, light trucks and sport utility vehicles.
