J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. Announces the Sale of Its Subsidiary, Lake City Express

    LOWELL, Ark.--June 26, 1998--J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. announced today that it has sold its subsidiary, Lake City Express (LXI). The sale was made to Susan Atherton, the current president, and a group of investors. Lake City Express engages in the transportation of high-value and expedited freight using air ride equipment and independent contractors. Following the sale the company will operate as a qualified minority carrier. The terms of the sale were not disclosed.
    This completes J.B. Hunt's divestiture of business units not strategically aligned with its core transportation logistics solutions focus of truckload van and intermodal, dedicated contract services and J.B. Hunt Logistics.
