Snap-on Incorporated Elects Jack D. Michaels, HON INDUSTRIES Chairman and CEO, to Board of Directors

    KENOSHA, Wis.--June 26, 1998--Jack D. Michaels, chairman, president and chief executive officer of HON INDUSTRIES, Inc., Muscatine, IA, was elected today to the board of directors of Snap-on Incorporated.
    Michaels, 60, joined HON in 1990 as president and became chief executive officer in 1991 and chairman of the board in 1996. HON is a $1.4 billion manufacturer and marketer of office furniture, and wood and gas fireplaces and stoves. Prior to joining HON, Michaels was president and chief executive officer of Hussmann Corporation in St. Louis, MO.

    Michaels is also a director of Huffy Corporation. The election of Michaels increases the Snap-on board to 11 members.
