AutoZone Announces Promotions

    MEMPHIS, Tenn., June 24 --  John C. Adams Jr., chairman and
chief executive officer of AutoZone, Inc. , today announced the
following promotions:

    Clete Faddis, 36, previously district manager, was promoted to vice
president - stores. He reports to Gerald E. Colley, senior vice president -
stores.

    Jack Mitchell, 37, previously product manager, was promoted to vice
president - quality systems. He reports to David Wilhite, senior vice
president - merchandising.

    Mark Palazola, 40, previously senior product manager, was promoted to vice
president - purchasing. He also reports to David Wilhite.
