ADVISORY/Integrating PDM with ERP is Focus of Kalthoff Fall 98 Show and Conference in Orlando
--June 23, 1998--Event is First to Address ERP's Role in Linking Product Data
Between Engineering and Manufacturing
Kalthoff International, celebrating a decade of producing the leading conferences for engineering document management and product data management technologies, today announced that the Kalthoff Fall 98 EDM/PDM conference will be held from September 28 - October 1 at the Omni Rosen Hotel in Orlando. In addition, this conference will launch a new event, Engineering ERP 98, a "show within a show" focused on the complex issues related to integrating product data between engineering and manufacturing in industrial firms.
"The transfer of data between engineering and manufacturing is a natural extension of the EDM/PDM market we've served for ten years," stated R. Michael Kalthoff, president of Kalthoff International. "Today, more than ever, manufacturers need to know the implications of managing product information throughout their organization. A critical aspect of that is the integration of PDM with ERP/MRP systems, and this conference is the first to address that issue."
Orlando Conference Highlights
-- September 28 -- Kalthoff University: Twelve intensive, beginner- to expert-level courses on PDM, EDM, ERP and Web technology taught by leading industry experts.
-- September 29 -- Keynote Speech: Veteran NASA Astronaut Fred Haise will present "Apollo 13 -- Lessons Learned in Data Management," including video footage of his historic flight.
-- September 29 - October 1 -- Concurrent Seminar Sessions: Over 40 sessions covering EDM/PDM, PDM integration to ERP, and Web strategies in manufacturing, high-tech, and process industry firms.
-- September 29 - October 1 -- Software Evaluation: Opportunity for attendees to schedule private meetings and software demonstrations with key executives from over 50 leading EDM, PDM, and ERP firms.
Media sponsors for Kalthoff Fall 98 include CAE, Desktop Engineering, and Managing Automation magazines.
Kalthoff Fall 98 and Engineering ERP 98 conference sessions will cover the basics of EDM/PDM, the flow of information between manufacturing and engineering, the overlaps between ERP and PDM, ownership of product data throughout its life cycle, and the Internet's role in interoperability. Attendees registered for either conference have access to the full schedule of course sessions.
Attendees can also schedule one-on-one meetings and software demonstrations with key executives from over 50 leading EDM, PDM and ERP firms. All Kalthoff conferences are distinguished by a unique format that gives attendees access to vendors in the privacy of hotel suites and breakout rooms instead of on an exhibit floor.
Engineering ERP 98 is co-produced by Plant-Wide Research Group of Billerica, Massachusetts, a consulting and market research firm focused on the manufacturing, financial, planning and control systems software and hardware markets; Midrange ERP Magazine, the Management Magazine for Mid-Sized Manufacturers; and Kalthoff International.
Kalthoff International, based in Cincinnati, Ohio, specializes in accelerating the movement of engineering information technology (EIT) into the hands of users through conferences, publications, and new media.
