McKechnie Vehicle Components Announces New Chrome Plating Line
TROY, Mich., June 19 -- McKechnie Vehicle Components (USA)
announces plans to install a plastics chrome plating line at its
Nicholasville, Kentucky, manufacturing site. As the largest supplier of wheel
trim products to the North American automobile industry, the installation of
this capability to chrome plate plastics will allow MVC/USA to better serve
its customers' quality and cost objectives.
The plating line is scheduled to become operational during the second
quarter of 1999. When completed, the hoist line configuration, with its
state-of-the-art process and environmental controls, will allow MVC/USA to
fully satisfy both current and future requirements of its customers and
governmental regulations.
The planned production of the plating line will initially be dedicated
toward serving MVC/USA's wheel trim requirements. However, with its system
size and flexible process parameters, more diverse products will be a part of
its future.
McKechnie Vehicle Components (USA) is a division of the McKechnie plc.
Group (Aldridge, U.K.) with North American headquarters in Troy, Michigan. It
has a manufacturing plant in Newberry, South Carolina, in addition to the
Nicholasville, Kentucky, location. Major customers include Ford, General
Motors, Daimler/Chrysler, Toyota, NUMMI, Mitsubishi, Mercedes, Mazda, and
Hayes-Lemmerz.
