Bing Group Company Earns Recognition from General Motors
    DETROIT, June 17 -- Superb Manufacturing, Inc. was recently
honored in Mexico City with the 1997 GM Supplier-of-the-Year award.  General
Motors Worldwide Purchasing honored 182 supplier companies who exceed specific
performance standards in the area of quality, service, and price.  The
awardees were selected from a GM supply base of more than 30,000 suppliers
worldwide.  The GM Supplier of the Year awards are a long-standing tradition
at GM.  This is the sixth year for GM's program that recognizes supplier
companies worldwide.
    Superb Manufacturing, Inc. is affiliated with The Bing Group, L.L.C. which
consists of 6 companies located both in metro Detroit and the Detroit
Empowerment Zone.  The Bing Group, a vertically-integrated automotive parts
supplier, is ranked among the Top 5 African-American companies in the country
and was recently named 1998 Company of the Year by Black Enterprise Magazine.
With revenues of $227 million projected for 1998, The Bing Group has
approximately 800 employees of which 87% represent minority groups.
    "This is our second Supplier of the Year award", said Dave Bing, Chairman
of The Bing Group.  "I'm very proud of my team and this award shows that we
can compete successfully with the best suppliers in the world."
    "Superb Manufacturing is one of 182 suppliers recognized by GM as a
Supplier of the Year.  Superb demonstrated throughout 1997 that they are among
the Best of the Rest suppliers for stampings", stated Harold R. Kutner, GM's
Vice President for Worldwide Purchasing and North American Production Control
& Logistics and host of the award program.
