Pro Air Chrysler, GM Agreements Signed

17 June 1998

Pro Air Chrysler, GM Agreements Signed
DETROIT, June 17 -- Pro Air today announced it has finalized
agreements with both Chrysler Corporation and General Motors (GM)
to provide air travel service to employees of the two companies.
With the agreements, Pro Air becomes a preferred airline of Chrysler and GM
between the five cities the carrier serves.
Effective immediately, the agreements direct Chrysler and GM employees
traveling on business to Baltimore, Indianapolis, Newark or Philadelphia to
fly with Pro Air, which operates out of Detroit City Airport. The agreements
apply also to Chrysler and GM's suppliers traveling on business related to the
automakers.
Included in the agreements is a provision for Chrysler and GM employees,
spouses and dependents under the age of 21 to travel anywhere Pro Air flies on
a stand-by basis for $25 per flight segment.
The agreements are for a five-year term, with an option to extend for an
additional five years.
According to Craig Belmondo, Pro Air president and chief operating
officer, not only are the agreements a positive for Pro Air, but they also
demonstrate the power businesses have to impact the high cost of air travel.
"The business community is recognizing the benefits of supporting competition
in the airline marketplace," said Belmondo. "Agreements like these will lead
the way for Detroit and other cities to see lower air fares and better service
over the long term."
Pro Air Inc. empowers business people and consumers to travel more often
by lowering the high cost of air fares. The airline, which brought low fares
to Detroit on July 4, 1997, with daily service aboard new Boeing 737-400
aircraft, operates two week-day round-trip flights and additional weekend
flights to Baltimore/Washington D.C. (BWI), Indianapolis (IND), Newark,
N.J./New York (EWR) and Philadelphia (PHL) from its hub at Detroit City
Airport (DET). For more information, travelers should contact their travel
agent or Pro Air at 1-800-939-9551 or http://www.proair.com.
