Budget Group Increases Purchase Price to be Paid in Connection With its Cash Tender Offer and Solicitation of Consents With Respect to Outstanding Debt of Ryder TRS
    DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., June 16 -- Budget Group, Inc. has
increased the purchase price to be paid pursuant to its cash tender offer and
solicitation of consents relating to the outstanding 10% Senior Subordinated
Notes Due 2006 of Ryder TRS, Inc., dated June 5, 1998.  Subject to the terms
and conditions set forth in the tender offer, the Total Consideration payable
to holders will be calculated using a Spread of 50 basis points rather than
the 75 basis points described in the tender offer materials.  Based on a
recent price for the Treasury reference security, the amount payable,
including the consent payment, would be approximately US$1,162 per each
US$1,000 in aggregate principal amount of Notes, assuming payment on July 8,
1998.
    A portion of the Total Consideration, the consent payment of US$20 per
US$1,000 in principal amount of Notes, will be paid only for tendered Notes
for which consents have been validly delivered by 5:00 p.m., New York City
time, on the later of June 18, 1998 (if on such date Budget Group has received
the requisite consents) or the first date thereafter on which Budget Group
receives the requisite consents.
    The cash tender offer will expire at 5:00 p.m., New York City time, on
July 2, 1998, unless extended.

    Budget Group, through subsidiary companies and their franchisees, operates
Budget Car and Truck Rental, the third largest worldwide car and truck rental
system.  In addition, the company owns Premier Car Rental, which serves the
insurance replacement market.  Budget Group also owns Budget Car Sales, one of
the largest independent retailers of late model vehicles in the United States,
